3 Reasons Why Your Boston Terrier

A reader of mine Kristy, recently asked me why their Boston Terrier’s poop is never solid.

Here’s a quick background - she was feeding him “Natures Recipe Vegetarian Blend”.

Kristy has another BT who was suffering from cracking and bleeding ears and putting her on this diet apparently stopped that problem. But now she’s wondering if the food is causing the diarrhea.

Always bear in mind that if ANY problem persists with your BT you’re advised to check with your vet.

However, let me give you 3 common reasons why this may happen:

1. Generally speaking it is NOT a good idea to give Boston Terriers a veggie diet. Dogs are not meant to be vegetarians.

If you’re a vegetarian that’s fine, you made your choice as a human being…but don’t impose your likes and diet beliefs on your dog. There’s a natural order of things…don’t break it.

So, yes, the veg diet may indeed be a possible cause for his runny poop.

2. A common treat that some of you may be giving your Boston Terrier is “Raw Hides” as a chew toy. While the chewing part is cool, often times they can chew off bits of it and it can very well cause loose or runny poops.

3. Internal parasites is yet another possible cause for diarrhea in your BT. There are times when immediate inspection of fresh poop is required in order for the parasites to be visible under the microscope.

Obviously it goes without saying it ain’t going to be you who looks under the microscope! LOL :) A visit to the vet would be required.

While on the topic of good health and a very long life for your Boston Terrier, did you read the report I recommended earlier THE DOG FOOD SECRETS ?

It’s a MUST in your doggie library. It was pretty shocking when I first read it and am glad I know the information now.

If you haven’t done so yet, check it out here.
